Are you looking for Tyre Labelling for your vehicle?

It is mandatory to use only EU labelled tyres in the UK. There have been certain updates in the EU tyre labelling regulations effective from 1st May 2021. As per updated EU tyre label, a few changes have been made that you as a car owner should be aware of.

On this page we, RM Auto Centre would like to explain the details efficiently, so you can make an informed decision before buying tyres Chingford from us.

Fuel Efficiency

A car tyre’s fuel efficiency rating will range between A and E. A-rated tyres offer minimum rolling resistance and the highest fuel efficiency. However, tyres rated with E provide poor fuel economy.

Wet Grip

The tyre’s wet grip performance will now range between A and E. Tyres with A wet grip rating have a short braking distance and will take the least time to come to a complete halt. Alternatively, E-rated tyres come with poor braking performance.

Noise Emission

As per the new EU tyre label regulations, the noise emission levels of a tyre will have A, B and C ratings. Also, the new EU labels will have the noise emission level of a tyre denoted in decibels.

Additionally, there are some other new guidelines you should be aware of:

  • Tyres designed for superior snow performance will come with a 3PMSF symbol on their EU labels.
  • A unique QR code will be available on each tyre. You will receive detailed information and verification of a tyre from the EU database on scanning this code with a smartphone or other gadget.

We think it is important to know about these updated rules before searching for “tyres near me”.
